Read it at Vijay Malya, Tippu sword and Gandhi Memorabilia

Vijay Mallya won five heritage items that belongs to Mahatma Gandhi steel-rimmed spectacles, a pair of sandals, a Zenith pocket watch, an eating bowl and a plate in an auction by AntiquorumAuctioneers in New York for $1.8 million. Indian government tried its best to stop the auction and also offered to purchase these at the reserve price as it can’t participate in an auction. After rejecting the conditions put by James Otis Indians lost hope of bringing these things back to India. But the most passionated business man Vijay Mallya brought them back to India.

Few years back in 2004 Mallya had brought sword that belongs to Tippu Sultan from an auction in London fro Rs 1.5 crores. At that time it was considered as a political drama as he was leading Janata Party in election. Now it is completely dead and there is no sign of bringing it back to active politics. Even though he used the sword for his campaign it did not do any magic. He could not make his party win even a single assembly seat.

Now winning of auction of Gandhi memorabilia can not be just considered as a symbol of status. It is now attached to patriotism. Janata party is not there in politics. Mallya is always welknown for his fashionable habits. From horse race to Kingfisher bikini callender he is always shinmes as a business celebrity. Gandhiji was against alcohol. He always used to tell India should be alcohol free. But the liquor money is now used to bring Gandhi memorabilia back to India!!

Finally world economic meltdown kissed biotechnology too. It took time, may not be at that extent other fields are affected, but it is. There are several reasons to say it will continue even after other firms recovers.
I have some friends working for both research institutions and biotechnology companies. One of my friend in an Indian research institution tells they started re-using eppendorf tube which they have never done earlier. Instead of thrown in to dustbin, now they wash it and sterilise. This is because they are not getting sufficient fund from the corporate firms who were always in back of these research. If this continues for quite a long time they may have to stop research. That is true, research works in biotechnology requires a huge fund, that a research institution alone can not afford. So many firms and also government bodies sponsor these research as their corporate social responsibility. At this economic condition how can you expect funds?
While bio tech companies are still seems to be stable at stock market are also running short of research capital. The capital comes from investment companies and most of the investment firms are now at their worst condition. So now, the research in large bio tech firms have also lost support from capital investment firms. If research in bio tech loses support, it could be a worst hit to mankind.

Satyam- a former construction company turned a Indian software giant, 4th largest IT exporter from India now at trouble. It is seeing a very tough time recently when market people did not accept Satyam’s acquisition of Maytas Infrastructure and Maytas Properties where both companies are in the hold of family of Satyam’s chairman B Ramalinga Raju. Satyam’s this deal disturbed the basic confidence of Indian investers. You can look at the chart given here and observe more than 40% loss in just 1 week where the prices of 24th Dec compared with 16th Dec, the day before the Maytas- Satyam deal saw the red eye of investers.
The company dropped the plan to buy the two firms within hours after investors reacted angrily. But it didn’t helped because it encountered another unfortunate moment- The World has barred Satyam, its top computer software services provider, from conducting any business with it for eight years. The WB has given the reasons “improper benefits to bank staff” and “lack of documentation on invoices” for taking this action. This again raised selling pressure of the Satyam shares. Even today (24 Dec) market drop and Satyam share fall are non comparable- Satyam was down 14.6 percent at 119.85 rupees at the time Mumbai market was down 0.9 percent.

Apart from these stories there are also strong reasons that Satyam’s further fall that may not be able to acquire in this strange economic situation. Satyam clients General Electric, Nestle and Qantas Airways, cut its sales forecast in October. Satyam became a live example of bad corporate governance. There is no hope of Satyam becoming Shivam(auspiciousness-favorable quality of indicating successful) and Sundaram(beauty).

Reliance Broadband has a small programming error, but the result is awesome!! It is similar to that of Y2K problem which most of us forgot. It is nothing but displaying year as 108 instead of 2008. This is observed when I tried to create a new account with Reliance broadband home page as a customer of Reliance broadnet.

See the snap shot of this error

on’t know, who has written this letter. But I thought it is publishable in my blog. I received this mail from my friend Santhosh B. J. Thanks to original writer.

Dear Mr. Prime minister

I am a typical mouse from Mumbai. In the local train compartment which has capacity of 100 persons, I travel with 500 more mouse. Mouse at least squeak but we don’t even do that.

Today I heard your speech. In which you said ‘NO BODY WOULD BE SPARED’. I would like to remind you that fourteen years has passed since serial bomb blast in Mumbai took place. Dawood was the main conspirator. Till today he is not caught. All our bolywood actors, our builders, our Gutka king meets him but your Government can not catch him. Reason is simple; all your ministers are hand in glove with him. If any attempt is made to catch him everybody will be exposed. Your statement ‘NOBODY WOULD BE SPARED’ is nothing but a cruel joke on this unfortunate people of India .

Huduku- my new search engine

Huduku- My new search engine

Hi friends, Hope you are doing well.

It is an open letter to you to tell you that I have developed my own search engine enabled by Google. I used exclusively primitive HTML language with little support from Google to build this. I started learning HTML 2 months back by using Write HTML tutorial a free resource from Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction (MCLI).

Then I thought of doing something in web. I already had Google adsense account which provides ads to one’s websites thus one can get revenue out of it. I got permission from Google to use their search engine and built a search engine. Then question rose, should I waste money in purchasing Web spaces? I searched for free web servers. I found is the best free web server without any ads or pop up windows. Then it was a minute job to publish my site.

This is not the all; you can expect more from me.

For time being you can see my search engine huduku and give me suggestions on anything even on the source code I’ve written for it. I’m in learning process. Thank you!!
